This page lists a selection of frequently asked questions and answers that should help you in your search.

Brands

Could you send me samples or coupons for your products?

At this time, we do not have a promotional program in place for the distribution of free coupons or samples. We suggest checking magazines and local newspapers, as they frequently carry discount coupons for many of our products.

I suffer from various allergies. How do I know if your products are suitable for me?

Please contact our Canadian division of Consumer Services at 1-800-565-7273. To find the toll free number for a particular brand please see the brand profile which can be found in the Our brands section. Alternatively, you can find some details on the product packaging.

Some of the people in my family have food intolerances & food allergies, can you tell me which food allergens are in your products?

Our product formulations and ingredients change from time to time; therefore we do not have a list which identifies specific sources of allergens or gluten in our products. If our ingredients contain even trace amounts of peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, milk, eggs, fish, soy, sulfites or wheat (and ingredients that may contain gluten), it will be stated on the label.

However, in the unlikely event that you cannot determine whether or not a product contains the ingredient in question, we suggest you do not use it.

For more specific information about the ingredients used in our products or other information you find on the packaging, please call our toll free Consumer Contact Centre at  1-800-565-7273 and they will be pleased to assist you.

What is Unilever’s policy on animal testing?

Unilever Canada understands and shares your concern about this most important and complex matter. We are pleased to say that Unilever Canada does not test any of its home or personal care products on animals, in keeping with an earlier pledge we made to eliminate such testing whenever possible.

Unilever Canada is committed to the elimination of animal testing. We are equally committed to consumer and customer health and safety and to the safety of our workforce and the environment.

Globally, Unilever does not undertake animal testing or commission others to do such testing on our behalf unless it is absolutely necessary to meet our health, safety and environmental obligations or it is demanded by government regulators or other official bodies. Before any animal testing is carried out, our internal control procedures require senior management to certify in writing that there is no other way of proceeding. We do not test finished home or personal care products on animals unless demanded by the regulatory authorities in the few countries where this is the law. In such cases we still try to convince the local authorities to change the law. The safety of Unilever products is assured by rigorous procedures using data from suppliers, the results of previous assessments and the most up-to-date information from the scientific literature available in the public domain. Our product development relies to a great extent on our ability to predict the safety of products.
